History Sings: Immigrants & Ancestors

The Immigrants and Ancestors program offers songs and stories about Norwegian, Irish, Jewish, and Italian immigrants coming to America during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is performed by the trio Folk Street and offers insight into the experiences of our ancestors who bravely made America their new home.

Over fifty million people have come to America’s shores, truly making us a nation of Immigrants. The stories of our ancestors are full of hope, longing, despair, and happiness.

With songs and stories, Immigrants and Ancestors relate experiences of Irish, Jewish, Italian, and Norwegians who came to America to make it their home. This one hour program is presented by the trio Folk Street accompanying themselves on guitars and banjo.
